The Black & White [Redux]

Closing Reception

Please join us for the closing reception of HYCIDE XPANSE's exhibition THE BLACK & WHITE [REDUX] on Friday, August 29th, 6–9pm in the heart of Newark's Arts and Education District.

On view: THE BLACK & WHITE [REDUX], an exhibition of images from "HYCIDE: The Black & White Book" exploring the power of Black culture and race as a social construct. Featured photographers include Akintola Hanif, Le Pistolera, Erik James Montgomery, Jean Messeroux, Amandla Baraka, and Kenibashu Saikaptah.

Copies of "HYCIDE: The Black & White Book" will be available for purchase. The first 15 people to purchase a book will receive a free 10-minute massage provided by Probody Massage.

The event will also feature performances by singer/songwriter Janetza, Soul collective June and The Pushas, and lyricist, performer Arrow The Symbol, and funkatronic band, Cosmik Debris. Music by Zunyda and Mark the Spark.

Envisioned as a sanctuary for intentional creative exchange, reflection and collaboration, HYCIDE XPANSE is a curated third space for critical thinking and aligned minds. A testament to a life sharpened by love, loss, and clarity, XPANSE seeks to provide space for visual literacy and dialogue.

After party from 9–11pm at HYCIDE XPANSE. Free and open to the public.
